Youth Firesetter Intervention Program
The Youth Firesetting Prevention Program is a free, confidential service designed to educate children and their caregivers about fire safety and the potential consequences of firesetting behavior. The State Fire Marshal's Office's main goal is to support local fire departments in their communities by providing training, guidance, and materials. The program aims to intervene early, preventing further firesetting incidents and promoting positive behavioral change.
Our office provides resources to fire departments including:
- Training on the Firesetting Prevention Program.
- Program workbooks, interview questions, "how-tos," and family checklists.
For more information or copies of these documents, reach out to Andrew McCormick, Public Education Program Coordinator, at [email protected].
