The Office of the State
Fire Marshal is working to improve the inspection program
of elementry and secondary schools. As part of this process
we have developed a generic inspection form that schools can
use to determine their current level of safety.
Certification for Inspection and Testing
of Water Based Fire Protection Systems
Effective March 03, 2004, all persons
engaged in the inspection and testing of automatic fire sprinkler
systems must receive a certificate of registration from the
State Fire Marshal's Office. To be registered, a person must
pass the applicable examinations and must complete the manipulative
skills task book(s)

Certification for Inspection and Testing
of Fire Alarm Systems
Effective January 2, 2007, all persons
engaged in the inspecting and testing of fire alarm systems
must receive a certificate of registration from the Utah State
Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Utah District 25 of the Sprinkler
Fitters Local Union 669 have developed a demonstration trailer
to show the effectiveness of residential sprinklers in saving
lives.
Our mission is to identify,
develop, and promote ways and means of protecting life and
property from fire-related perils through direct action and
coordination of Utah Fire Services.
