LPG Containers

All containers shall be approved for LPG and their application. NFPA 58: 6.26.3

Supply system installed outside of vehicle or in recess/cabinet vapor-tight to inside but accessible/vented to outside. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.3

Vents from vapor-tight cabinets near top and bottom, 3ft horizontally away from openings into vehicle below vent level. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.3

Containers mounted securely on the vehicle or within the enclosing recess or cabinet. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.4

Container fasteners withstand four times the weight of the container filled with fuel. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.4(B)

Cylinders have permanent protection for cylinder valves and connections. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.4(G)

Cylinder weather protection provided. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.4(H)

Containers/Cylinders shall not be installed, transported or stored inside the vehicle. NFPA 58: 6.26.3.2

Containers shall not be filled beyond approved limits. IFC 6106 & NFPA 58: 5.7.2.2

LP-Gas Piping Systems

Piping shall be installed, supported, and secured to minimize vibration and damage. NFPA 58: 6.26.5.1

Piping shall be protected from physical damage. NFPA 58: 6.26.5.1

Piping systems shall be pressure tested and proven to be leak free. NFPA 58: 6.26.5.1

Pressure relief valve installed on the low-pressure side of the regulator. NFPA 58: 6.26.4.2

Appliances

All appliances shall be approved for their specific use. NFPA 58: 6.26.7.1

Gas-fired appliances equipped with an approved automatic shut-off device. NFPA 58: 6.26.7.2

Appliances located so a fire at any appliance will not block egress from vehicle. NFPA 58: 6.26.7.4

Permanent caution plate with operating instructions provided near containers. NFPA 58: 6.26.7.10

Cooking, Hoods & Suppression

Type I hood installed at or above commercial cooking appliances producing grease vapors. IFC 607

Type I hood equipped with an approved automatic fire-extinguishing system. IFC 607 & 904.13

System serviced every 6 months and have a current State Fire Marshal's tag. IFC 904.12.5

Equipment NOT operated while suppression/exhaust system is nonoperational. IFC 904.1

Hoods and related equipment cleaned at regular intervals to prevent grease accumulation. IFC 607.3

Fire Extinguishers

Minimum of one 2:A-10:BC provided in all vehicles. IFC 906

Class K provided for solid fuel or vegetable/animal oils and fats. IFC 906.4

Extinguishers located in conspicuous, readily accessible locations. IFC 906.5

Electrical & Generators

Extension cords NOT used as substitute for permanent wiring. IFC 603.6

Extension cords NOT pass through walls, ceilings, or floors. IFC 603.6

Generators used in hazard-free manner, safe distance from vehicle. IFC 313 & 1204

Generators NOT re-fueled during event or when public is present. IFC 313 & 1204

General & Recommendations

Smoking prohibited within 25 feet of LPG container. IFC 310

"No Smoking" 2" block letters: "FLAMMABLE GAS NO SMOKING WITHIN 25 FEET".

Wheel chocks used when stopped ("When your feet hit the ground the chocks go down").

Only thermostat controlled fryers used. No stove top fryers.

Fryers allowed to cool for minimum 30 minutes before transit.
